Colt 1911 Government Classic 45 ACP 5" 8rd Black Chrome Pistol

The Colt 1911 Government Classic is the gun that started it all. Over a century of proven service in military and civilian hands, and this version keeps the original full size profile with a 5-inch barrel and traditional single action trigger. The black chrome finish across the stainless steel frame and slide gives it a look that separates it from standard blued or parkerized 1911s while adding a layer of corrosion resistance. Double diamond checkered wood grips round out the classic aesthetic. This is a straightforward, no-frills Government model built to the dimensions and controls that 1911 shooters expect. The Government Classic runs an 8-round magazine in 45 ACP and feeds through a standard GI barrel bushing system. Controls include a manual thumb safety, grip safety, and Series 80 firing pin block for added drop protection. Fixed sights sit low on the slide in the traditional GI configuration. At 4.45 pounds unloaded, it has the heft that helps tame 45 ACP recoil and keeps follow-up shots manageable. The stainless construction under the black chrome means less maintenance worry compared to carbon steel frames. If you want a full size 1911 in 45 that looks sharp and runs on a proven design, the Government Classic checks those boxes.
