Colt 1911 Defender 9mm 3" 8rd Pistol

The Colt Defender is a carry ready 1911 cut down to a compact size, and this version is chambered in 9mm. It pairs a lightweight aluminum frame in a matte black Cerakote finish with a blued carbon steel slide and a 3" barrel, for a pistol that weighs 24 oz unloaded and measures 6.75" overall. The magazine holds 8 rounds and one is included.

Colt built the Defender to be carried every day and shot often. Genuine Novak sights pair a tritium front night sight with a low mount carry rear, so the sight picture is there in daylight or darkness and nothing snags on the draw. An upswept beavertail grip safety lets your hand sit high on the gun, and partial checkered black cherry G10 grips give traction without being harsh against skin. The trigger is a 3 hole aluminum unit on a single action hammer fired system, backed by a thumb safety, grip safety and a Series 80 firing pin safety. In 9mm the short 1911 is soft shooting and quick to get back on target, which is a big part of why the Defender works so well as a concealed carry gun.
