Cimarron Frontier 44-40 WCF 5.5" 6rd Revolver

The 44-40 WCF was the cartridge that let a frontiersman carry one load for both his rifle and his revolver, and the Cimarron Frontier keeps that pairing alive. This Frontier is chambered in 44-40 WCF with a 5.5" barrel and a six round cylinder, built on the Pre-War frame.

Cimarron finishes it the traditional way: color case hardened frame, standard blue barrel, and a one piece walnut grip. Fixed sights and a standard hammer and trigger keep the build true to the originals. At about 41 oz the revolver hangs steady, and 44-40 is a mild cartridge in a gun this size, so long strings are comfortable. The 5.5" barrel splits the difference between the short carry length and the long Cavalry length, giving a good sight radius with quick handling. Cowboy Action shooters who run a 44-40 lever rifle can share one cartridge across both guns, and collectors will appreciate a Frontier in one of the original 1873 pattern chamberings.
