Cimarron 1866 Yellowboy 44 Spl 24" 12rd Rifle

The Winchester 1866 earned the nickname Yellowboy for its bright brass receiver, and it remains one of the most recognizable lever guns of the frontier. Cimarron's 1866 sporting rifle keeps that brass receiver and pairs it with a blued 24" octagon barrel and a walnut stock.

This model is chambered in 44 Special, a mild and accurate cartridge that is easy to shoot all day and pairs with a 44 Special revolver on the same belt. The tube magazine holds 12 rounds. Overall length is 45.5" and weight is about 8.2 lbs, which gives a steady hold offhand without wearing you out over a long match. Front and rear sights are fitted for quick shooting on cowboy action stages. The contrast of brass against blued steel and walnut is what draws people to an 1866, and it looks as good on the wall as it shoots on the range. Cowboy action competitors get a smooth, soft shooting main match rifle, and collectors get a classic piece of frontier history to go with their single action revolvers.
