Christensen Arms CA15-G2 223 Wylde 16.25" 30rd Rifle

The CA15-G2 is Christensen Arms doing what Christensen Arms does, which is take weight out of a rifle with carbon fiber. The 16.25" barrel is stainless steel wrapped in aerograde carbon fiber and cut with a match chamber, threaded 1/2-28 behind a stainless flash hider. The 14.75" slim line handguard is carbon fiber too, slotted for M-LOK, and it covers most of the barrel without adding much to what the support hand carries. Upper and lower are billet aluminum in the G2 pattern, with an undercut trigger guard machined in rather than pinned on.

The rest is set up to be shot rather than tinkered with. The gas system is direct impingement, the bolt carrier group wears a black nitride finish, the trigger is a match unit, the safety throws 90 degrees, and the stock is a BCM Gunfighter that adjusts for length. The magazine holds 30. A carbon wrapped barrel does two useful things: it sheds weight compared with a steel barrel of the same profile, and it pulls heat off the barrel faster during a long string, so groups hold together deeper into a range session than a pencil profile barrel would allow.
