The X-Bolt 2 Hunter Maple Deluxe takes Browning's current hunting action and dresses it in white maple with rosewood fore-end and grip caps, a pairing you do not see on many working rifles. This one is chambered in 270 Win, a classic deer and elk round, and runs a 22 inch sporter contour barrel that balances accuracy against carry weight. Barrel and receiver wear a low glare matte blued finish so the wood does the talking without the metal throwing reflections in the field.

Underneath the looks it is a full X-Bolt 2. The barrel is free floated with the action bedded front and rear, the detachable rotary magazine holds 4 rounds, and the trigger is adjustable. The bolt lifts a short 60 degrees, which cycles fast and keeps your hand clear of a big scope. A bolt unlock button works with the top tang safety so you can open the action and clear the chamber with the safety on.
