About the Browning BAR MK4 Hunter
The BAR traces straight back to John M. Browning's autoloading design work for the U.S. military, and the MK4 Hunter is the hunting version of that lineage. This one is chambered in 243 Winchester with a 22" fluted barrel in a non reflective matte black, riding in a matte blued aluminum alloy receiver that is drilled and tapped for optics. The action bar and inertia block connection is what holds barrel vibration down while the rifle cycles, and that is a large part of why a BAR groups better than most people expect an autoloader to.
The composite stock has overmolded gripping panels and a raised SoftFlex cheekpad, and it is shim adjustable for cast on and off and for drop at the comb, so you can tune how the rifle lands against your face rather than living with what you were handed. An Inflex recoil pad soaks up what little 243 pushes back with. Magazine capacity is 4 rounds. In practice this is a deer and varmint rifle that hands you a fast follow up shot without working a bolt, and the fluted barrel and alloy receiver keep the weight down when the walk in is long.
