About the Black Rain Ordnance Chinook
The Chinook is Black Rain Ordnance's 30 caliber can, and like the rest of the line it is 3D printed in titanium as one monolithic piece rather than assembled from parts. Titanium dumps heat quicker than the stainless steel builds it lines up against, and it takes real mass off the muzzle. This is the XL body: 7" long, 1.745" in diameter, black, and it mounts QD rather than threading on directly.
Gas management is the other half of the design. The breathable, forward venting geometry pushes excess gas out laterally instead of back toward the shooter, which keeps the sight picture cleaner between shots and shortens the gap before a follow up round. The QD mount means it comes on and off the host quickly when you want the rifle back to a bare muzzle.
