Beretta's 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting in 28 gauge is a small gauge clays gun with a full sized personality. The 30 inch barrels are Beretta Steelium with the Optimabore HP profile, built with a long double forcing cone that opens gradually rather than abruptly. That geometry is what produces the even patterns and the soft push this gun is known for, and Beretta tested the bore profile with lead, steel and high performance steel loads so pattern quality holds up across shell types.

The B-Fast stock is where a sporting gun earns its money. Height, cast, drop and rotation all adjust, so the gun can be fitted to the shooter instead of the shooter learning to work around the gun. An Extralight recoil pad sits on the back and a redesigned top lever with a repositioned release pin makes opening and closing the action noticeably easier over a long day.
