Weatherby Mark V Carbon Compact 22 Creedmoor 22" 3rd OD Green Rifle

The Mark V Carbon Compact is Weatherby's answer for shooters who find a standard hunting rifle too long and too heavy. It runs the lighter 6-Lug Mark V action rather than the nine lug magnum action, and the stock is a hand laid fiberglass Monte Carlo pattern with a shortened length of pull, so smaller framed and younger shooters can mount it without stretching for the trigger. That raised Monte Carlo comb also routes recoil down and away from the face, which counts for something on a rifle built this light.

The barrel is a BSF carbon fiber wrapped 22" tube, and it wears Weatherby's Accubrake DST, a directional self timing brake that indexes without shims or a gunsmith. Chambered in 22 Creedmoor, the rifle throws light bullets flat with very little push at the shoulder, which suits varmints, predators and long range practice. The receiver and trigger guard carry an OD Green finish, the bolt, bolt knob and safety are graphite black, and each stock is hand painted black with brown, green and white sponge accents. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, and the magazine holds 3 rounds.
