About the Weatherby Mark V Capra
Weatherby developed the RPM family to give a short, light action a cartridge worth carrying, and 25 Wby RPM is the quarter bore version of that idea. It pushes .257 bullets at Weatherby velocities out of a case sized for a six lug short action, which is exactly the sort of pairing the Backcountry Capra exists for. The Mark V action here is machined from titanium, making it one of the lightest production rifles the company has built, and Weatherby holds the rifle to sub MOA accuracy.
The barrel is a thin contour with double spiral fluting that forms a double helix, a pattern that sheds metal while keeping the tube rigid. It measures 21 inches and wears a graphite black Cerakote finish, with 1/2-28 threads at the muzzle and a two inch brake already installed, which matters on a rifle this light. The rifle holds two rounds, the receiver comes drilled and tapped for glass, and a modified Peak 44 Blacktooth stock handles the back half. Everything about the build points the same direction: a rifle you carry all day and shoot when it counts.
