Weatherby Mark V Apex 22-250 Rem 24" 4rd Coyote Tan Rifle

The Mark V Apex is Weatherby's answer for a hunter who wants long range accuracy without hauling a target rifle up a ridge. The stock is Peak 44's Bastion, one of the lightest production vertical grip carbon fiber stocks made, with an ambidextrous palm swell and a substantial thumb groove that puts the hand in the same place every time the rifle comes up. Dual sling studs on the forend leave room for a bipod and a sling at the same time.

Recoil is handled by the second generation 3DHEX pad, a 3D printed recoil pad with interlocking voids inside that collapse progressively and stretch out the recoil impulse. In 22-250 Remington that is a luxury rather than a necessity, but the same rifle gets built in magnum chamberings and the parts carried over. The 24 inch barrel is fluted and threaded at the muzzle, finished in coyote tan over graphite black, and the bolt body wears pronounced spiral fluting. Feeding comes from a 4rd magazine and the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base. The 22-250 is still one of the flattest shooting varmint and predator rounds going, and a rifle this steady behind it turns a long coyote shot into a routine one.
