Up front is a tritium lamp under a domed sapphire lens, which Trijicon rates 2X brighter to quicken sight acquisition. Orange photoluminescent paint rings the front post and charges off room light, so it does not go flat in the daytime. The rear U notch is angled and serrated to reduce glare and aid front sight focus, staying visually quiet so the front sight is the thing you actually see. Self luminous, so there is nothing to turn on.
