Taurus GX2 TORO 9mm 3.38" 13rd FDE Pistol

Flat dark earth frame, black slide, and a slide that arrives already cut for a micro red dot. That is the GX2 TORO in FDE, and the color is the only thing separating it from the rest of the line. Underneath sits a 3.38" Sharpshooter barrel, a stainless steel chassis inside a polymer frame, and a 13rd magazine in a grip short enough to disappear under a shirt.

Taurus put a manual safety on this pistol, which is worth noting because a lot of compact striker guns skip it. There is a hinged blade in the flat face trigger as well. Sights are a fixed white dot front with a serrated rear that drifts for windage. Two backstraps are included, so grip circumference can be tuned to the shooter instead of accepted as delivered, and the dust cover carries a Picatinny rail for a compact light. The optic cut takes the common micro footprint and comes with a cover plate for anyone running irons only. FDE has a practical side too: a tan frame hides holster wear and range dust far better than a black one, and it makes the gun easy to identify in a bag. For a first optic ready carry pistol, this is a sensible place to start.
