Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 9mm 4.25" 17/20rd Pistol

The 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 4.25 is the double stack 1911 for shooters who want a flat shooting 9mm with real capacity. The polymer grip module mounts to a forged steel frame, and the forged carbon steel slide carries an integral compensator that vents gas up to keep the dot or front sight on target. The barrel is a 4.25" forged stainless match grade bull barrel. It comes with two magazines, one 17 round and one 20 round, so you can run either one.

The slide is optics ready through Springfield's Agency Optic System (AOS) plates. Out of the box the sights are a tritium front and a black serrated rear. Slide and frame wear black Cerakote, the dust cover has a Picatinny rail for a light, and the controls include an ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety. Recoil runs on a two piece full length guide rod, and the gun weighs about 32.5 oz unloaded. The single action 1911 trigger, compensated slide and 20 round capacity make it a strong pick for USPSA Carry Optics style games.
