Smith & Wesson Model 41 22 LR 5.5" 10rd Pistol

The Model 41 has been Smith & Wesson's top rimfire target pistol for generations, and you still see it on the line at national level bullseye matches. This one has the 5.5 inch heavy, button rifled barrel, a blued carbon steel frame and slide with serrations, and checkered wood target grips shaped to put your hand in the same place every shot. It comes with two 10 round magazines.

The sights are built for precision work: an undercut Patridge front blade and a micrometer click adjustable target rear. The trigger is set at 2.75 to 3.25 lbs with a user adjustable trigger stop, and a thumb safety sits where a target shooter expects it. The frame uses S&W's switch barrel design, so it accepts both the 5.5 and 7 inch Model 41 barrels. For a competitor, a serious rimfire shooter or anyone who wants to learn what a fine 22 feels like, this is the benchmark the others get compared to. It also makes a great tool for teaching trigger control, since the light, clean break shows every mistake.
