Smith & Wesson M&P Shield X PC 9mm 4.1" 15rd Blue Threaded Pistol

The Shield X came out of Smith & Wesson's Performance Center with a longer grip than a standard Shield and a 4.1 inch threaded barrel up front. Fifteen rounds in a pistol this size closes the gap between a carry gun and a duty gun, and the barrel threads mean a suppressor or a compensator goes on without buying an aftermarket barrel. The barrel is fluted stainless with a blue PVD finish, and a knurled thread protector in the same blue covers the muzzle when nothing is mounted.

The slide is cut for the RMSc footprint, so a compact red dot mounts directly to it. Ameriglo Trooper sights come installed, a green tritium front with a fire ring for low light and a serrated square notch rear that will not steal attention from the dot. Slide serrations were redesigned front and rear for a firm grip during press checks, and the gray slide finish contrasts with the blue barrel and controls. The frame is polymer with the M&P grip angle and texture that made the line work in the first place. Striker fired action, magazine capacity of 15, and a package built around one idea: carry it, suppress it, or run a dot on it, without a gunsmith visit first.
