Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 Lucky 380 ACP 2.75" 12rd Pistol

Smith & Wesson runs the Bodyguard 2.0 in a rotation of special finish editions, and this is the Lucky version. Under the finish it is the standard gun: 380 ACP, a 2.75" barrel, and a frame built around a magazine that holds 10rd flush or 12rd with the extended baseplate. Both magazines are included. For a pistol that fits a front pocket, that is a lot of ammunition on board.

This is the configuration without a manual safety. Drawing and firing is one motion with nothing to sweep off, which is how most people who carry a small gun prefer to set it up. The trigger is flat faced and breaks cleanly, a different animal from the long heavy pull on the first generation Bodyguard. The slide is stainless with serrations at both ends, the frame is polymer with texture where the fingers and the palm land, and the pistol is thin through the middle rather than blocky. 380 ACP out of a locked breech action keeps recoil civil, and the slide is light enough for a shooter with limited hand strength to rack without a fight. A micro 380 is a compromise gun by definition, but this one gives up less than most.
