The Savage AXIS 2 XP Compact Rifle in .243 Winchester brings the redesigned AXIS 2 series into a compact, hunter-friendly package that pairs a 20" heavy sporter barrel and 1:9.25" twist with a lightweight 7.5 lb carry weight for fast, accurate field work; its bolt-action operation, carbon steel receiver and threaded-in headspacing deliver reliability and repeatable accuracy for deer, varmint and long-range predator hunting. Out of the box you get a user-adjustable AccuTrigger for a crisp, tunable pull, an updated ergonomic bolt handle and a redesigned stock with ambidextrous palm swells and enhanced texturing that improve control in rain or cold, plus a detachable box magazine and fixed stock for solid shoulder-to-bore alignment. The AXIS 2 XP Compact ships with a factory-mounted, boresighted 3—9x40 scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments, making sighting-in faster at the range or on opening morning. Built in the United States and finished in OD Green, this right-hand rifle carries a 4+1 capacity, 39.5" overall length, and no mechanical sights so hunters can run optics they trust; an FFL transfer is required for purchase.
