The Super Redhawk is Ruger's heavy frame double action revolver, and this is the stainless 44 Magnum version of it. The frame is extended forward with extra metal in the top strap, the sidewalls and the barrel mounting area, which is where the strength for a steady diet of full house 44 loads comes from. The cylinder locks into the frame at the front, the rear and the bottom rather than at a single point, so alignment stays honest after a lot of heavy shooting.
