Ruger SP101 Wiley Clapp 357 Mag 2.25" 5rd Stainless Revolver

The Ruger SP101 Wiley Clapp is a TALO edition of Ruger's small frame steel revolver, set up the way gun writer Wiley Clapp liked a carry wheelgun. It is chambered in 357 Magnum, so it also fires 38 Special for practice, and it holds five rounds behind a 2.25" barrel. The frame and cylinder are stainless steel, and at about 26 ounces the SP101 has enough heft to make full power magnum loads manageable, something the lightweight alloy snubs cannot claim.

The Wiley Clapp package adds Novak sights with a gold bead front for a sight picture you can actually use under stress, plus a cushioned rubber grip that covers the backstrap so no metal touches your hand. Like every SP101 it uses a triple locking cylinder that locks to the frame at the front, rear and bottom, a transfer bar ignition system, and integrated subassemblies that come apart for cleaning without special tools. The grip frame accepts a wide range of aftermarket grips. It is a durable, shootable carry revolver for concealed carry, home defense, or a woods gun where a stainless finish earns its keep.
