About the Retay KOTA RGR-1000 Field
This is the black version of the KOTA RGR-1000 Field, a pump action 12 gauge with a 3 round magazine and a fiber optic front sight. It is the plainest kind of shotgun there is, and that is the appeal.
Nothing on a pump gun depends on the shell to work. The shooter provides the energy, so light loads and heavy loads cycle identically and a cold morning does not change how the gun behaves. There is no gas system to clean and no cycling problem to diagnose. What is left is a barrel, a slide, and a trigger, which is why pump guns have outlasted most of the clever designs that were supposed to replace them.
