Proof Research Elevation FDX LWH 6.5 PRC 20" Splinter Camo Rifle

Proof Research put carbon fiber barrels on the map, supplying blanks to half the custom shops in the country before building complete rifles of its own. The Elevation FDX LWH is the lightweight hunter of Proof's rifle line, chambered here in 6.5 PRC with a 20" carbon fiber wrapped barrel, muzzle threaded, in a right hand action.

The stock is carbon fiber as well, finished in Splinter Camo, which keeps total weight in the territory where all day carry at elevation stops being a negotiation. Proof's barrel technology is the draw: a thin steel core wrapped under tension in carbon fiber, stiffer than a steel barrel of equal weight and quicker to shed heat between shots, so the cold bore shot and the third shot land in the same conversation. In 6.5 PRC the rifle reaches well past the distance most hunters should be shooting at game, with recoil a light rifle can live with. Sheep hunts, backcountry mule deer, any hunt measured in vertical feet — this is the tool that was built for it.
