Pietta Cowpoke 357 Mag 4.75" 6rd Engraved Revolver

The Cowpoke is Pietta's tribute to the people who actually work cattle, and the engraving says so. Scrollwork runs across the frame, barrel and cylinder, and the walnut grip is carved in a cowhide pattern with lines from old cowboy songs worked into it. The cuts are deep enough to read from across a counter instead of disappearing into the surface. It is a lot of gun to look at before you ever load it.

Mechanically it is a straight 1873 pattern single action: gate loading, exposed hammer, six rounds in the cylinder and a 4.75" barrel. The 357 Mag chambering makes it the practical version of the pair, since 38 Special turns it into an inexpensive gun to practice with and full house magnum loads are there when something bigger walks out. The 4.75" length draws fast from a strong side rig, which matters if this ends up on a cowboy match belt rather than in a case. Fit and timing are what Pietta has built its name on, and this one is no different once the artwork stops distracting you.
