Mountain Billy Gun Lab GOAT-15 Helium 22 LR 16" 10rd Rifle

The GOAT-15 Helium is an AR style 22 LR built about 20 percent smaller than a standard AR-15, and the entire rifle weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces. Polymer upper and lower receivers are the reason. That weight changes how the rifle gets used: it rides in a pack on a backcountry trip without anyone noticing it, and it fits a new shooter who cannot hold up a full size carbine long enough to learn anything.

Controls follow the AR-15 pattern, so the trigger, safety and magazine release all sit where a shooter expects to find them, and the 7 position adjustable buttstock covers small frames through full grown adults. The 16" barrel is threaded 1/2-28 for a can or a brake, the handguard is M-LOK on all sides, and a full length Picatinny rail up top takes irons or a red dot. Mountain Billy includes both a 10 round magazine and a single round magazine, and the rifle uses a patented safety design of their own. Direct blowback keeps the action simple with very few parts to fail, and 22 LR means a full day of steel challenge practice or time in the squirrel woods without much thought about how many rounds went downrange.
