Mossberg 990 Aftershock SPX 12 Ga 18.5" 7rd Matte Blue Shotgun
Product Details
The Mossberg 990 Aftershock SPX with the 18.5" barrel is the standard-length variant of the semi-auto Aftershock family, still wearing the bird's head grip instead of a conventional stock. Because it ships without a shoulder stock and meets the ATF's 26" overall length minimum, it stays classified as a "firearm" rather than a shotgun — same legal category as the 590 Shockwave, no NFA paperwork required. The longer barrel gives you a seven-round tube capacity and slightly better sight radius for defensive use at inside-the-home distances.
The 990 Aftershock uses a dual-vent gas system carried over from the 940 Pro line, designed to run clean across a wide range of loads from target 2 3/4" through 3" magnum buckshot and slugs. The bird's head grip is checkered polymer, the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics, and the barrel carries a heat shield with ghost ring sights. Matte blue barrel and receiver over black polymer furniture. A semi-auto answer to the Shockwave for shooters who want softer cycling and faster follow-ups in a short, non-NFA defensive 12 gauge.
