Maxim Defense PDX SCW 5.56 NATO 5.5" 20rd FDE Pistol

Maxim Defense designed the PDX for the SOCOM PDW solicitation, and this is the 5.56 NATO version in the Arid FDE finish. It packs a 5.5" barrel threaded 1/2-28 into a gun only 18.75" long, with a 20 round magazine and a direct impingement gas system. The HATEBRAKE muzzle booster is mounted under the handguard; it brings recoil down, reduces flash and pushes the blast away from the shooter, which matters a lot on a barrel this short in 5.56.

The SCW pistol brace keeps the back end compact. It is a 4" system that integrates the bolt carrier and uses interchangeable buffer weights to tune the action. The upper has an HK height top rail, the M-LOK compatible handguard floats the barrel, and Maxim rates that barrel for 2 MOA. Controls are an ALG Combat Trigger, Radian charging handle and selector, a manual safety and an ambidextrous controls, on an aluminum receiver. 5.56 NATO is the most common rifle cartridge in the country, so feeding it is easy. A strong option as a vehicle gun or a compact defensive AR.
