Maxim Defense PDX SCW 7.62x39mm 5.5" 20rd Pistol

The black Maxim Defense PDX in 7.62x39mm puts AK caliber punch into an AR pattern pistol only 18.75" long. It has a 5.5" barrel threaded 5/8-24, a 20 round magazine and a direct impingement gas system. Maxim's HATEBRAKE muzzle booster sits under the handguard and is there to cut recoil and flash and send the muzzle blast forward. The 7.62x39 cartridge carries heavier bullets than 5.56 and gives up less from a short barrel.

The Maxim SCW pistol brace is a 4" system with the bolt carrier integrated and interchangeable buffer weights, which is how the PDX gets so short. The upper receiver has an HK height top rail, and the free float handguard is M-LOK compatible. Maxim rates the fully floated barrel at 2 MOA. Controls include an ALG Combat Trigger, Radian charging handle and selector, a manual safety and an ambidextrous controls. The receiver is anodized aluminum. Born from the SOCOM PDW solicitation, the PDX is aimed at shooters who want a compact gun for a vehicle, a backpack or the house without dropping down to a pistol caliber.
