About the Liberty Precision Machine DUTY
The DUTY is Liberty Precision Machine's simplified take on their Torch 5.56/6mm can. The target is total signature reduction for the shooter and for anyone standing nearby on gas operated rifles, and the honest trade is stated up front: a moderate amount of gas blowback and sound at the shooter's position in exchange for a lot less noise at the muzzle. LPM recommends tuning the host rifle for use with it.
It weighs 11.7 ounces, uses a solid end cap and comes with a 1/2-28 direct thread adapter, so it threads straight onto a 5.56 barrel with nothing stacked underneath. It is full auto rated and rated up to 6mm, which covers more than the 5.56 in the name. The finish is graphite black Cerakote. Smaller and simpler than the Torch is the whole idea here, for shooters who can live with a bit more back pressure.
