Kimber 1911 Boot Campaign 5" Pistol

The Boot Campaign is a nonprofit that connects veterans and military families with individualized care for the injuries and strain that follow service, across every era and every branch of the armed forces. Its stated goal is a country where that kind of precision care reaches every one of those families, and the organization funds direct service programs to get there. Kimber put the Boot Campaign name on this pistol so the message travels past the people who already know it.

The gun underneath the branding is a Kimber 1911 with a 5" barrel, the length the pattern was drawn around and the one that gives the design its sight radius and its slow, deliberate slide cycle. Controls sit where a 1911 shooter expects them: a single action trigger, a thumb safety, a grip safety and a magazine release under the thumb. The frame is aluminum rather than steel, which takes real weight off the belt without changing the manual of arms or the way the gun points. Kimber built its reputation on 1911s that leave the factory fitted tighter than most shops can manage by hand, and the slide to frame relationship is where that shows up first.
