About the Kel-Tec PR-5.7 Compact 5.7x28mm
The Kel-Tec PR-5.7 Compact is a 5.7x28mm handgun built around a stainless steel rotary barrel measuring 4.64". The steel slide over it carries a black oxide finish and cut serrations that give the hand something to hold during press checks and reloads. It is cut optic ready, so a red dot can be mounted directly to the slide rather than hung off a rail adapter behind the ejection port.
Underneath, the frame is black polymer with an accessory rail on the dust cover for a light or a laser, and the grip surface is textured for purchase in the hand. The magazine holds 10 rounds. Kel-Tec keeps the weight down by building the frame from polymer and putting the material where it earns its place, in the steel slide and the stainless barrel. The Compact designation is the model name Kel-Tec puts on this configuration. Serrations run the length of the slide and the grip surface is textured, so the gun gives the hand purchase at both ends. With the optic cut, the accessory rail and a 10 round magazine, it leaves the box ready for a dot and a light without a trip to a gunsmith.
