Horizon Firearms Core Bandit 22 Creedmoor 22" 5rd Rifle

The 22 Creedmoor is a 6.5 Creedmoor case necked down to take long, heavy .22 caliber bullets, and it turns out that combination carries a very long way. Velocity runs well above the older .22 centerfires, the wind pushes it less than you would expect, and recoil is mild enough to spot your own impacts through the scope without anyone calling them for you. That has made it the cartridge of choice for coyote hunters, prairie dog shooters, and a growing number of people ringing steel past six hundred yards.

Horizon Firearms builds the Bandit as a short action bolt gun, and the Core configuration is the working version of it. Barrel length here is 22", long enough to get full value out of the 22 Creedmoor case but still short enough to carry and to handle out of a truck or a blind. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds. Horizon comes out of the custom rifle world, and the fit and finish reflects that more than it reflects a production line. This is a specialized rifle rather than a do everything deer gun, and for a shooter who spends the year on varmints and steel, the specialization is the point.
