About this product
The Heritage Rough Rider is a rimfire take on the classic single action army revolver, and this model goes all black: black steel barrel, black frame and cylinder, and a black polymer grip. It has a 4.75" barrel, a 6 round cylinder chambered in 22 LR, fixed sights with a notched rear, and an exposed hammer.
Operation is traditional single action: cock the hammer for each shot. The safety works off the hammer and thumb, and the hammer is exposed in the classic style. It weighs a bit over 30 ounces, giving it the balance of a full size cowboy gun with almost no recoil. That makes it a natural first handgun, an easy way to practice single action handling, and a handy gun for knocking down cans or dealing with pests around the farm. The polymer grip holds up to rough use and doesn't mind getting wet. Overall length is about 10 inches.
