Henry Single Shot Steel 12 GA 28" Shotgun

This is the steel framed version of Henry's Single Shot shotgun, built on the same break top action as the Henry Single Shot rifle. A rebounding external hammer and a locking lever that pivots either way keep the hammer off the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled, and an interlock stops you from opening or closing the action with the hammer cocked. It is about as simple and as safe as a shotgun gets.

The receiver is blued steel and the 28 inch barrel is round blued steel with a brass bead front sight. The 12 gauge chamber accepts shells up to 3.5 inches, so it takes 2.75, 3 and 3.5 inch shells. The barrel is threaded for Rem Choke style tubes and a Modified choke comes with it. The American walnut stock has a pistol grip and a solid black rubber recoil pad, which helps with the heavy shells. At about 6.65 pounds it carries easily all day. It suits a first shotgun or a simple field gun.
