Walther Hammerli Forge H1 22 LR 5" 12rd Pistol

The Hammerli Forge H1 is a 1911 pattern pistol chambered in 22 LR, from the Walther family of brands. It has the 1911 layout most shooters already know: grip and thumb safeties, a beavertail on an aluminum frame, and a serrated steel slide. It fits standard 1911 holsters and accepts aftermarket 1911 grips, so the gear you already own for a centerfire 1911 carries over.

The 5" steel barrel is threaded for a suppressor or muzzle device, and the slide wears a black Cerakote finish. Each magazine holds 12 rounds, and two magazines are included. Because it runs on 22 LR, the Forge H1 is an easy way to put a few hundred rounds downrange in one session. New shooters get a full size pistol with almost no recoil, and 1911 owners get a practice gun with the same controls and grip angle as their carry or match gun. The light recoil also makes it a good tool for teaching grip, sight picture and trigger control before stepping up to 9mm or 45 ACP. Add a rimfire suppressor and it becomes one of the quietest, most pleasant pistols you can take to the range.
