Glock 19 generations
Every Glock 19 shares the same size, 9mm caliber and 15 round magazine. The generations differ in the grip and the controls. Gen3 pistols have finger grooves on the grip. Gen4 added a rougher grip texture and swappable backstraps so you can change the grip size. Gen5 dropped the finger grooves and added an ambidextrous slide stop lever. Versions marked MOS have a slide cut for a red dot, mounted with adapter plates. The V series and Gen6 are the newest versions in our listings. In stock now: 5 Gen6, 10 V series and 1 Gen5.

These are the three sizes of Glock's double stack 9mm. The Glock 17 is the full size model, the Glock 19 the compact, the Glock 26 the subcompact.

Pick the Glock 19 if you want one pistol for carry, the house and the range. The Glock 17 gives you a longer sight radius and two more rounds; the Glock 26 hides better but holds 10. Longer magazines fit shorter grips, so a Glock 17 magazine works in a Glock 19 and sticks out below the grip.
Glock 19 magazines
The standard Glock 19 magazine holds 15 rounds, and 10 round versions are made for states that limit capacity. Glock 17 magazines (17 rounds) and longer extended magazines also fit and work, because any longer 9mm Glock double stack magazine fits a shorter grip. Holsters, sights and parts
The Glock 23 (.40 S&W) and Glock 32 (.357 SIG) are the same size as the Glock 19, so many holsters list all three; light-bearing holsters are made for a given light. Sights for the Glock 19 also fit the other standard Glock models, while barrels and slides are made per model and often per generation, so check the generation in each title. What is the difference between the Glock 19 Gen5 and Gen4?
Both are the same size with a 15 round magazine. The Gen4 has finger grooves on the grip and swappable backstraps. The Gen5 has no finger grooves, an ambidextrous slide stop lever, and keeps swappable backstraps. Each listing names its generation.
Do Glock 17 magazines fit the Glock 19?
Yes. A Glock 17 magazine holds 17 rounds and fits the Glock 19; it sticks out below the grip. Longer extended 9mm Glock magazines fit too. A Glock 26 magazine is too short to fill a Glock 19 grip.
What is the barrel length of the Glock 19?
4.02 inches on the standard models. Some listings have longer threaded barrels; the title says so.
Is the Glock 19 optic ready?

What is the difference between the Glock 19 and the Glock 19X?
The Glock 19X puts a Glock 19 length slide on a full size Glock 17 frame, so it has the longer grip and takes 17 round magazines. The Glock 19 has the shorter compact grip and a 15 round magazine.
