Fierce Firearms Mountain Reaper 2.0 6.5 CM 18" Bronze Rifle

The Fierce Firearms Mountain Reaper 2.0 is a bolt action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with an 18 inch barrel and a bronze finish. A short barrel on a mountain rifle is not a compromise so much as a decision: it takes length and weight off the front end, which is what a shooter feels on the third mile of a climb and again when the rifle has to come off the shoulder fast in thick country.

6.5 Creedmoor is the default open country cartridge now and the reasons hold up. It gives up less to a short barrel than the old belted magnums do, and factory ammunition sits on every shelf in bullet weights running from light varmint loads up to heavier hunting bullets. It was drawn around magazine length and short actions, so nothing about the cartridge fights a compact rifle. Recoil is mild enough that most shooters can call their own hits through the scope, which matters more for practice than any spec on a chart. The bronze finish is a change from the usual black.
