Fierce Firearms Carbon Mini Rogue 2.0 22 Creedmoor Bronze Rifle

Most rifles in this class come in black or in camo. This one wears a bronze finish instead, which reads warmer than the flat grey and green filling the rack around it. Under the colour it is a Carbon Mini Rogue 2.0, the compact member of the Fierce Rogue family, cut with a reduced length of pull for shooters who cannot mount a full size hunting stock cleanly, and chambered in 22 Creedmoor.

The cartridge is the reason to look at it. 22 Creedmoor takes the short action Creedmoor case and necks it to .224 so it can drive the long, heavy .22 bullets that only started appearing in the last decade. Those bullets carry through wind in a way lighter varmint loads never did, and because the recoil impulse stays small a shooter can call their own shots on steel. It has become a favourite for coyote work where the shots stretch out and a second one is unlikely. The action is a bolt gun, so the shooter controls the pace instead of the gas system doing it. Pair a mild cartridge with a stock a smaller shooter can actually reach and the rifle gets carried and shot rather than left in the truck, which is worth more than any spec on a sheet.
