Federal took the Fusion bullet, a soft point with its jacket bonded to the core, and reworked it to open up at 1000 fps instead of 2200. That is the hard part of building subsonic hunting ammunition: most bullets simply punch through without expanding once you slow them down that far.

Loaded to stay under the sound barrier, this 30-30 is quiet enough through a suppressor that a follow up shot is still on the table. It is a short range deer load and it behaves like one, dumping energy where it lands.
