About this product
Arguably the most famous sixgun of the Old West, the 1873 pattern revolver was carried by Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Texas John Slaughter and the Texas and Arizona Rangers, and by Jesse James, Billy the Kid and Butch Cassidy on the other side of the law. Cimarron's Frontier is a replica inspired by an original in its collection, chambered in 45 Colt with a 4.75" barrel and a six round cylinder.
This is the Pre-War model, with the cylinder pin screw on the side of the frame in the post 1896 style. It wears the traditional finish: color case hardened frame with a standard blue barrel and cylinder, and a one piece walnut grip. The hammer is exposed and the sights are fixed. At about 40 oz it balances well with the 4.75" barrel, which is the quickest of the classic lengths to draw and the easiest to carry. 45 Colt is the cartridge this design made famous, and it hits hard with moderate recoil in a gun of this size. It fits Cowboy Action shooting, range work, and anyone building a collection of frontier revolvers who wants the original look in a gun meant to be shot.
