Christensen Arms Mesa FFT Buckmasters 308 Win 20" 5rd Rifle

The Mesa FFT is Christensen Arms' lightweight hunting rifle, and this Buckmasters limited edition wears an orange and black finish on the carbon fiber stock. FFT stands for Flash Forged Technology, the company's stock building process, and the whole point of it is weight. A rifle that gets carried all day in steep country is judged on what it weighs at the end of the day, not at the counter. The action is spot bedded into the stock and the bolt handle is skeletonized to shave a little more.

Barrel work is where the accuracy comes from. The 20" stainless barrel is hand lapped and free floated, with a #4 contour that splits the difference between a pencil barrel that heats up in three shots and a heavy tube nobody wants to pack. The muzzle is threaded, so a brake or a suppressor goes on without a gunsmith, and 20" is a sensible length once a can is hanging off the front. A TriggerTech trigger handles the break and the stainless receiver is drilled and tapped for bases. 308 Win remains one of the most useful deer and hog cartridges there is: mild recoil, bullet weights for everything, and factory loads on every shelf.
