Browning X-Bolt 2 Hunter Grade II 243 Win 22" 4rd Rifle

The X-Bolt 2 Hunter Grade II is the walnut and blued steel version of Browning's updated X-Bolt, and 243 Win is the chambering that gets handed to a lot of first rifles. It shoots flat, it barely moves the shoulder, and it will handle deer inside sensible range while doubling as a coyote and varmint gun through the off season. New shooters do not flinch with it, which matters far more for hitting things than any number printed on the box.

The stock is Grade II checkered walnut with a satin finish, cut to a proper sporter profile rather than a chunky tactical shape. Browning reworked the receiver and the bolt for the X-Bolt 2, and the 22" sporter contour barrel wears a non reflective matte blued finish that will not flag game in bright light. The muzzle is threaded under a radial brake, so the rifle takes a suppressor or stays braked, whichever the owner prefers. Scope mounting uses Browning's X-Lock system, which anchors each base with four screws instead of two, a small detail that heads off the slow zero drift that plagues hard used hunting rifles. Four rounds ride in the detachable magazine and the action is right hand.
