Browning AB3 Hunter 300 WSM 23" 3rd Rifle

Short action, big cartridge. The AB3 Hunter in 300 WSM gets you into 30 caliber magnum power without the longer receiver a belted magnum needs, and it does it in a rifle that weighs just under seven pounds. The 23" barrel is a touch longer than the standard calibers in the AB3 line, which gives the short fat case room to burn its powder. It is a matte blued sporter contour barrel, free floated and finished with a target crown.

The furniture is satin finish black walnut with cut checkering, and the metal is matte blued steel. A light rifle in this chambering does kick, so the Inflex recoil pad earns its keep here. The detachable magazine holds three rounds, which is what the fat WSM case allows, and it drops free when you want to unload at the truck. Browning's 60 degree bolt lift leaves room for a large scope, the safety is on the top tang, and the bolt unlock button lets you work the action while the safety stays on. Swivel studs come installed. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and there are no iron sights to work around when you mount your scope for elk or long shots on mule deer.
