About the Bergara Cima Pro 300
The Cima Pro is carbon from one end to the other. Bergara's CURE carbon barrel and an autoclave cured carbon fiber stock cut the weight a 300 PRC would normally carry, and the stainless steel receiver in the middle is drilled and tapped and finished in a titanium color that pairs with the brown and tan sponge accents in the stock. The stock is fixed, with no hardware to loosen up on a long hunt.
In 300 PRC the 22 inch barrel is the right call. The cartridge was drawn up around long, heavy 30 caliber bullets and a throat that lets a handloader seat them out, and it does that work without the pressure spikes and case stretch that plague the old belted magnums. The barrel is threaded, which most owners of a light magnum will use for a brake or a suppressor, and the magazine holds three rounds. It is a serious cartridge in a rifle light enough to actually carry into the country where it earns its keep.
