Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 12 GA 19.1" 7rd Carbon Fiber Pattern Shotgun

The A300 Ultima Patrol is Beretta's defensive 12 gauge, built on the gas operated A300 action with a short barrel and an extended magazine tube. Gas operation does most of the work of taming 12 gauge recoil, which matters more on a gun this short than on a field gun, and it lets the same shotgun run buckshot and slugs without any adjustment. This example wears a carbon fiber pattern finish over the standard Patrol configuration.

The short barrel is the whole point. A 19.1" tube swings quickly indoors, does not hang up in a doorway or a vehicle, and still leaves room for 7rd under the barrel. The A300 action has a reputation for running dirty and running wet, which is what you want in a gun that may sit loaded for months between range trips and then get asked to work on the first pull. Beretta aimed the Patrol at home defense and duty use rather than at the field, and the barrel length and magazine capacity make that obvious the moment you pick it up. Recoil with buckshot stays manageable enough for a shooter of average size to keep the gun on target through a string.
