Auto-Ordnance M1 Lightweight Tommy Gun 45 ACP 16.5" 30rd Rifle

Auto-Ordnance's Lightweight M1 keeps the silhouette of the Thompson that soldiers carried across Europe and the Pacific, and drops a large share of the weight that made the original a handful to carry all day. The barrel and receiver assembly is blued aluminum alloy instead of milled steel, and the furniture is polymer molded with a walnut grain so it reads like wood from across the room without the weight or the moisture problems that come with real stock timber.

It is chambered in 45 ACP with a 16.5" barrel and feeds from a 30 round stick magazine. The action is semi auto, one round per press of the trigger, and the bolt handle sits on the side of the receiver exactly where a Thompson's belongs, which is a good part of the reason to own one in the first place. The stock is fixed and the grip is molded from the same walnut grain polymer. 45 ACP out of a barrel this long is a soft shooting combination that new shooters take to immediately, and the stick magazine means a long string before anyone has to reload. This is a range gun and a piece of firearms history more than a defensive carbine, and it is far easier to carry to the line than the original ever was.
