Athlon Talos BTR Gen2 1-4x24mm ATMR6 SFP Riflescope

Talos BTR is the value end of the Athlon catalog, and 1-4x24 is the simplest useful configuration in it. One power gives a wide, fast picture for close targets, and four power is enough to make hits well past where a red dot runs out of precision. It is a common choice for an AR that gets used for a bit of everything: range work, hogs, and the occasional shot that is longer than a carbine usually takes.

A 1-4 is also the easiest low power variable to shoot well. The optical system is not being stretched as far as it is in a 1-8 or a 1-10, so the eye box is more forgiving and the sight picture comes together quickly on the mount. The ATMR6 reticle is etched and illuminated, with MOA holds that keep the same visual size through the range because it sits in the second focal plane. Set it in a cantilever ring at AR height, leave it at 1x for most of the day, and turn it up when the shot asks for it.
