The Surgeon Magpul Pro is built on Surgeon's 591 short action, an action known for strength and accuracy. The receiver has a built in 20 MOA MIL-STD 1913 rail and an integral recoil lug. Integrating the lug into the action gives Surgeon a longer barrel tenon and stiffens the whole free floated system, which is a big part of why these rifles group the way they do.
This one is chambered in 308 Win with a 20 inch heavy Palma contour barrel, the heaviest profile Surgeon offers on this rifle. The muzzle is threaded and comes capped, ready for a brake or suppressor mount. A TriggerTech trigger handles the break, and the Magpul Pro stock folds for transport and storage. It feeds from Magpul PMAG 5 round magazines. The rifle weighs about 11.5 lbs, a weight that soaks up recoil and stays steady on a bag or bipod.
