Arken SH4 Gen II 4-16x50mm FFP 34mm MRAD VHR Riflescope

Arken made its name selling first focal plane glass at prices that used to buy second focal plane hunting scopes, and the SH4 Gen II is the workhorse of that line. Four power on the bottom keeps a usable field of view for closer work, and sixteen on top is enough magnification for small steel a long way out. Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, the hash marks stay true at every magnification setting, so a hold measured at 8x means the same thing at 16x.

The 34mm tube gives the erector room to travel, which is what you want when you are dialing elevation rather than holding it. Turrets and the illuminated VHR Varmint Hunter reticle are both MRAD, so the math stays in one system: you see a miss in mils and you correct in mils without converting anything. It mounts in standard 34mm rings, and the size and weight put it on a precision rifle rather than a lightweight mountain gun.
