About the Wilson Combat 1911 Plunger
The plunger tube spring lives inside the plunger tube on the left side of a 1911 frame and pushes outward on the two plungers that sit at either end of it. One plunger indexes the thumb safety, the other works against the slide stop. When that spring gets tired, the safety loses its click and the slide stop starts wandering.
It is a small part that is cheap to replace and easy to overlook during a build or a refresh of an older gun. Wilson Combat lists it as a replacement spring for 1911 pistols.
